Selling Items All sites will differ somewhat in terms of the options you have when selling your item and some of these options may not be available. 1. Select a Category Select each level of the category tree until the appropriate category for your item is reached. 2. Enter Item Title Title length will generally be limited by the site. 3. Enter Item Description See “Using the Editor”. This section makes up the core of your listing and it will be what buyers will see when viewing your auction. It can include Html, pictures and all other options made available through the editor. The editor can be used in the “Source” mode for entering your own Html or you may simply use the editor functions and type your description, add pictures, add links, etc.. The editor is s WYSIWIG one (what you see is what you get!). 4. Select Auction Type See “Auction Types” 5. Create Picture Gallery The system may limit the number of pictures you may include and all/additional pictures may include a site fee for adding. • Click “Upload Pictures” • Select the first picture to add from your computer, this picture will by default become your main image and the one utilized anywhere picture thumbnails are included during browsing such as the home page and categories page. • Click “Upload Picture” • Once your picture appears you may select a portion of that picture to emphasis or focus the thumbnail picture previously mentioned. Clicking “Cancel” will result in the full image being used in a small version for your thumbnail picture. • After you have added all of your pictures by uploading them click “Create Gallery” 6. Enter Item Quantity This option will be “1” unless an auction type such as “Dutch Auction” is selected where multiples will be sold. 7. Enter Opening Bid This sets the minimum bid to open the auction. 8. Enter Shipping Fee or Select Shipping Calculator(s) Flat shipping methods can simply be noted as a dollar amount. Utilize shipping calculators for USPS, UPS or other professional methods. 9. Enter Reserve Price (if any) When the reserve price is entered your auction will not result in a sale until the bids meet or beat this value. 10.Select Buy it Now option (if available) This offers buyers the option to purchase your item outright at this price prior to any bids being placed. After your auction opens with a bid this option will no longer be available. Jump to Table of Contents Build your own Online Auction with Webid © -DRAFT- 31 Jump to Table of Contents 11.Select Buy it Now only (optional and if buy it now price entered) When used in conjunction with the buy it now option this will remove the bidding process and the item can be bought outright at the buy it now price. 12.Choose Custom Bid increments or Use System Defaults Some sites may allow you to set your own bidding increment or you may use the already built in increments that are based on the escalating current bids. 13.Enter Start Date/Time Click the calendar icon to choose your start date and time. This may be used to schedule auctions to start in the future. The default is a start date and time that is immediate. 14.Select Auction Duration Use the pull down menu to select the auction duration from your start date/time. 15.Select Shipping Conditions Use this text block to describe any particular shipping and payment conditions you may require your buyers to follow. 16.Enter Special Shipping terms Choose who pays the shipping costs (buyer or seller) and if you will sell Internationally. Without International selected your auction will only be available to users in your Country. 17.Select Buyer Payment options Choose the payment methods you will except from your bidders
